For the GS-10:
You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as the majority of the following:
Conducted training and quality control for various measurement and accountability programs of standing trees and harvested timber; Planned implementation of individual vegetation management projects; Developed site specific diagnosis of treatment needs for site preparation, natural and artificial regeneration, animal damage control release, stocking level control; Conducted vegetative examinations of designated areas to evaluate existing conditions; Developed sampling design and intensity. For the GS-11:
You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-10 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as the majority of the following:
Prepared and executed a variety of conventional timber cruises and sampling methods to estimate quality and quantity of timber; Gathered data for logging system analysis such as road access, skyline profiles, and landing location suitability; Performed on-the-ground timber sale and cutting unit boundary layout considering such factors as accessibility, log-ability, stream protection, visual management, and impacts on other resources utilizing direction provided in the approved Environment Assessment (EA); Assembled statistical data and summarizes the results. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT:
If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
