For the GS-6 level:
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-5) in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience are:
Assisted in planning timber stand improvement projects that were without clear precedents or guides; gathered field data, prepared reports, diagrams, charts, and graphs for timber management programs or projects; Reviewed applicability of standard contract clauses for reforestation, timber thinning, fertilizing, stand exams, cone collection, site preparation, and animal damage control; Performed timber stand improvement (TSI) surveys or reforestation to determine stand condition and the need for TSI or reforestation treatments. For the GS-7 level:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-6) in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience are:
Used sampling methods, recording procedures, and inspection techniques in order to collect, summarize, and present requested data; Utilized computer programs to collect and process field data; Used aerial photographs for timber stand delineation and field location to examine vegetation plots; Performed reforestation/stocking surveys and surveys to determine degree and type of animal/insect damage; Served as Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) or inspector on contracts. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
