Provide university course descriptions as necessary. SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR (SCREEN-OUT):
This position requires the ability to organize and maintain scientific data and literature archives, maintain publications libraries both print and digital, and/or maintain online databases. This work must be related to fire, fuels or smoke. 90% of the major duties of this position involve this experience. BASIC REQUIREMENTS for Technical Information Services Series (1412):
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study that meets all the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in biological sciences. --OR-- Four years of experience that provided a knowledge of the basic principles, theories, practices, techniques, and terminology of a technical or scientific discipline or subject-matter field; and an understanding of the standard methods, procedures, and techniques of research and analysis in the subject-matter field. Such experience must have been equivalent to that which would have been gained through a 4-year college curriculum. --OR-- A combination of education and experience as described above. In addition to meeting the basic requirement, you must also possess experience and/or directly related graduate education in the amounts listed below. REQUIREMENTS FOR THE GS-9 GRADE LEVEL:
At least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience at this level includes:
Reviewing and analyzing scientific information from multiple sources for a literature collection and citation database; AND developing and/or summarizing scientific information products related to fire, fuel and smoke science in order to disseminate research information to a range of target audiences both technical and non-technical. NOTE:
Experience must have demonstrated the ability to perform, supervise, or direct one or more of the functional areas of work covered by this series; to understand the concepts, theories, new developments, and co-relationship of information in related fields which must include the biological and physical sciences; and to maintain up-to-date information on the state of the art. .--OR-- A master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. To be creditable, graduate education much be directly related to the work of the position.Your transcripts must show coursework specifically related to fire, fuels or smoke science. Attach university course descriptions as necessary --OR-- An appropriate combination of specialized experience and graduate education as described above. Only graduate education in excess of 18 semester hours may be used to qualify for this grade level. The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
