Franke College of Forestry and Conservation invites applications for a Program Manager to oversee all resources of the Wildlife Biology (WBIO) Program.
This includes developing, organizing, and coordinating the overall direction of the WBIO program, working closely with the WBIO Director, and providing a high level of support to WBIO faculty and students.
This position is responsible for daily operations, strategic planning, development of short- and long- term goals, and oversight of human and financial resources.
The Program Manager is expected to work under limited supervision on complex and unstructured tasks.
This position is highly visible and must use considerable and varied communication skills to represent the WBIO program in written and verbal exchanges.
Additional responsibilities include:
Working with the communications development team to develop marketing materials.
Organizing WBIO retreats, community partnered events, program meetings, etc.
Serving as liaison between the college and other offices on and off campus such as Human Resources, Business Services, Catering, Facilities and UC Events.
Supporting departmental fiscal affairs, budget planning and budget oversight.
Handling administrative travel, purchasing and assisting with student hiring.
This position will supervise student employees working in the WBIO office.
Required Skills Organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
Commitment to customer service, adaptability, and ability to effectively problem solve.
A high level of professionalism and the ability to represent FCFC to multiple audiences.
Experience working with various software, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Zoom.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge or ability to learn University, College, and departmental policies, procedures, organizational structure, and mission.
Knowledge of or ability to learn Moodle, Banner, UMDW, InfoGriz, Submittable, U-Approve.
Ability to research and compile data.
Knowledge of office equipment such as fax, copier, and printer.
Ability to maintain confidential records and adhere to FERPA requirements.
Ability to maintain, reconcile and resolve bookkeeping transactions in conjunction with FCFC accounting staff as well as maintain field trip budgets.
Ability to make sound decisions based on program's long-term goals.
Knowledge of or ability to learn how to use Grizmart and run Banner budget related inquiries and transcripts, etc.
Minimum Required ExperienceHigh School diploma and three (3) years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree (or equivalency).
