2 Status), day shift Medical Assistant position at the CPG Physical Medicine & Rehab clinicMajor responsibility to assist physicians and nurses with patients.
This includes:
greeting, escorting patients to the exam rooms, taking vitals, height, weight, histories, updating medication, developing and maintaining patient education materials, preparing patient equipment and medication prescriptions for the Physician, phone in prescription refills with Physician's approval, charting, preparing informed consent forms for invasive procedures, calling physician orders to other health provider agencies (i.
e.
home health, nursing home, therapists), securing x-ray films, preparing labs for the doctors, order clinical supplies, cleaning exam rooms, maintaining instruments, removing outdated medications and administering vaccination.
This job will also entail occasionally filling in for patient access:
checking in patients, answering the phone, filing and pulling charts.
Minimum Required:
High School diploma or equivalent and advanced training to completion in a medical assistant program.
One to two years experience in medical field.
Medical Terminology.
BLS upon hire; Healthcare Provider BLS within 3 months of hire.
Basic computer knowledge.
Must become Registered or Certified Medical Assistant within 18 months.
Preferred/Desired:
Registered or Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
