Each year, more than half a million Americans experience ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), out-of-hospital cardiac arrest or both. The majority of these patients fail to receive appropriate treatment for their life-threatening conditions within recommended timeframes.
Mission: Lifeline was created by the American Heart Association as a response to missed opportunities for prompt, appropriate STEMI treatment. Recently, Mission: Lifeline expanded to help existing STEMI
systems
of care incorporate out-of-hospital cardiac resuscitation into their systems.

The EMS Director will coordinate with
montana
State EMS Agency and Department of Health, Montana, EMS service providers to implement consistent and improved protocols for all heart attack patients during assessment, treatment, and transport. The EMS Director will work with providers to collect and submit data in through Mission Lifeline/ACTION Registry Get With The Guidelines database and assist in the development and implementation of EMS provider training and education for emergency heart attack care.
The EMS Director will work with the Montana Quality and Systems Improvement and Mission Lifeline Director and American Heart Association (AHA) leadership to achieve the AHA mission and Montana Grant requirements. The EMS Director will work under moderate supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
This is a grant supported position for a defined period of up to three (3) years.
Required Skills
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and build relationships within complex networks
Strong results orientation and ability to prioritize efforts towards key results
Strengths in collaboration and demonstrated ability to productively participate in a multi-disciplinary team environment towards common goals
Bachelor''s degree or equivalent experience in healthcare or a related field
Minimum of 5 years experience in public health education, marketing, public relations and/or
community
programs
Medical training as a Basic EMT or Corpsman level and at least three (3) years experience in EMS
services
or hospital programs required
Knowledge of EMS data collection processes and data definitions, including quality measures
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Candidates must be willing and able to travel extensively throughout the state (20% overnight). Valid driver''s license and proof of at least minimum state required automobile liability insurance required.
